Every year, in the Summer/Fall edition of 'Vallarta Lifestyles,' we produce a special section on the real estate developments that are currently in development in and around Puerto Vallarta. Last year the section had 32 pages.
This year's special section totals 52 pages; which alone should tell you what the market is presently like.
Last fall, when I saw how many advertising pages in the Fall/Winter issue were real estate developments, I was concerned. There would have to be a record year for real estate sales to support this kind of supply or we were going to have a hard time collecting from some developers! Well, let's just say our collections department had no problem whatsoever with our real estate advertisers this past season. The demand for Vallarta real estate is being supplied by a number of projects, both large and small. And it seems that no matter what developers build, the market just continues to absorb it. Although growth still continues to be heading toward the north shore (and beyond), the south shore still continues to offer unique, niche market projects for those who just have to be close to town.
But there is no doubt about it: the market is heading north, and far north � outside the bay and upward to Guayabitos and Platonitos. Last year it was sufficient to just show a map of the bay, this year we had to increase it to include the whole shoreline of Costa Vallarta. Every year, in the Summer/Fall edition of 'Vallarta Lifestyles,' we produce a special section on the real estate developments that are currently in development in and around Puerto Vallarta. Last year the section had 32 pages.

Last fall, when I saw how many advertising pages in the Fall/Winter issue were real estate developments, I was concerned. There would have to be a record year for real estate sales to support this kind of supply or we were going to have a hard time collecting from some developers! Well, let's just say our collections department had no problem whatsoever with our real estate advertisers this past season. The demand for Vallarta real estate is being supplied by a number of projects, both large and small. And it seems that no matter what developers build, the market just continues to absorb it. Although growth still continues to be heading toward the north shore (and beyond), the south shore still continues to offer unique, niche market projects for those who just have to be close to town.
But there is no doubt about it: the market is heading north, and far north � outside the bay and upward to Guayabitos and Platonitos. Last year it was sufficient to just show a map of the bay, this year we had to increase it to include the whole shoreline of Costa Vallarta.
